The Kindle looks and feels a little more upscale thanks to use of aluminum and glass, where Kobo opted for plastic. In the case of the Forma, that edge is curved, making it easier to grip. One side of the e-reader has a wider and thicker bezel, with physical page turn buttons mounted on it. They share a very similar form factor, a look that Amazon came out with first. The Oasis is $269.99 and the Forma is $279.99, so there’s no big cost advantage of one over the other (an important factor, as a gift giver), although you can shave $20 off the Kindle’s price by opting for “Special Offers” which displays ads on the lock screen.

Both of these e-readers are premium devices and priced accordingly.
